Anna Finlayson and I discuss current world events, with the imposition of a tyrannical regime upon humanity, in the context of life-death-rebirth and dark night of the soul. We discuss grief and letting go of what we once knew as ‘normal’, suppressed trauma as we try and make our way through the external and internal battles and the cultivation of our creative power to manifest the lives that we want for ourselves.
As well as being a qualified Relationship Coach with the Centre for Gender Psychology, Anna has been qualified as a trainer and coach with the Centre for Nonviolent Communication (NVC) from 2002-2013. She is a graduate of the Feminine Power programme and has studied Conscious Uncoupling (including personal coaching through her own break up) as well as taking part in intensive women’s work with the Centre for Gender Psychology, Celebration of Woman and with Social Alchemy – Honouring the Feminine and the Masculine. She has invested (and continue to invest) in over 25 years of psychological, emotional, and spiritual growth work, all of which supports her to support you and give you the best possible guidance on your journey. In these turbulent times, it is imperative to take charge of our holistic health – mentally, emotionally, physically, and probably the most important of them all but overlooked, our energetic health known as prana. The life force that flows through us. The true meaning of yoga has been convoluted and diluted through Western misappropriation. It’s not about having a perfect body and you do *not* measure your progress or set *goals* on your ability to get into difficult asanas (postures). Too many people become hung up with the physicality of yoga when the asana (posture) is actually a science to strengthen the energetic body.
In this fascinating discussion, Subhan shares the true meaning of yoga, the *real* transformative power and science behind this system and the real reason why the yogasanas (postures) exist.
I candidly share my journey of losing it all literally overnight, spinning me with loss of identity into the big unknown, the catalyst for my deep and profound spiritual transition and awakening, a total dismantling of myself and life as I’d known it.
I use the analogy of the seasons to express this journey into the winter of my dark night of the soul and finally coming to a place of spring, of new beginnings, wholeness and completeness. I speak about unhealed wounds and trauma that rise to the surface of our lives in time of profound transition that must be acknowledged in order for us to truly heal and come home to ourselves.
Collectively we are experiencing a dark night of the soul to awaken to the call of our own soul, to reconnect with spirit and come home to ourselves. We must remember our power at this critical juncture where we are at right now.
In a chat with my friend Susan we talk about the importance of a silent revolution, why we don’t always need to protest and the meaning of self sovereignty and getting grounded within yourself in these turbulent times. We discuss how we can find happiness during this storm and how being heart-centred, and being in our feminine, rather than overly head-centred will make the most difference in the world right now. Part 2 coming soon…where we ask: What has COVID come to teach us…
